There’s something at once wholesome and louche about Twen’s sound. Like the Carpenter siblings were banging each other. The title of our highlighted track “Feeling In Love (From the Waist Down)” points to the latter, but the sunny disposition of the album as a whole feels like it wouldn’t look for more than a kiss on the first date.

Shades of ABBA and Blondie in the sweet harmonies and dancehall bounce of “Bore U.” A righteous, whipsmart guitar solo in “HaHaHome” will transport you, for a few moments, to the farside of a 70s heavy rock classic.

“Feeling In Love (From the Waist Down)” sports a funky bass line that feels like it could bust into a reggae tune before the sing/speak voiceover and chorus nudge the song back into poppier regions. Extra points for gorgeous production and a dreamy, creamy seablue vinyl.
