William “Billy” Tauro and a Bunch of Swinging Dicks

William “Billy” Tauro’s campaign website (6/13, 2:25PM)

Did the website of Somerville mayoral candidate William “Billy” Tauro get hacked?

Either that or the controversial candidate is test piloting some unorthodox campaign strategies.

Perhaps “swinging dicks” is a growing constituency?

When you visit his campaign site (as of 6/13, 2:25PM) at billy4mayor.com, the site redirects to ridinspinnas.ytmnd.com, which is full of, well, swinging dicks and an irritating rap sample on repeat.

Historical evidence gathered at the Wayback Machine indicates that, indeed, the billy4mayor.com address has been used by the candidate to promote political campaigns in years past.

The “billy4mayor.com” site in 2021.

We reached out to the Tauro campaign to confirm the status of their campaign site: whether it was hacked, or whether they fully intended to have a landing page that redirects to a screen full of swinging dicks. We did not hear back as of press time. Hump Day News is not aware of any individual or group that has taken credit for the prank.

Apart from internet pranks, the candidate has taken heat related to questions surrounding his residency qualifications, with critics claiming that he is actually a Tewksbury resident. There is even an entire website devoted to “boycotting” the candidate, which highlights his sentencing for fraud in 1987 and multiple bankruptcies.

But in left-leaning Somerville, the biggest political sin of all might be Tauro’s endorsement of Trump and his love of Cybertrucks.

File this one under: “A dick in time, saves nine.”

[Update 6/14/25: There is at least one unofficial report that William “Billy” Tauro did not complete the documentation to run for mayor by the 6/11 deadline. However, the the date by which the documentation is processed and the candidates are officially posted by the Board of Elections is 7/3.]
