The closing number on a record full of organ music. Church organ music? No, we’re in the “profane” rather than “sacred” territory with Peter Garland’s music.

Our highlighted track is called simply “Movement 7.” But it’s got the subtitle “Stone,/Like stillness,” in case that gives you something to hang your hat on. There’s a wide-eyed sublimity to the music that might only be felt by people who grew up in houses of prayer with an organ player. Maybe it’s just nostalgia for a certain slice of growing up.
