Carla Kihlstedt and Present Music: “E - Death by Peach”

Starts with some jingle bells. Is this #xmas4eva? Not so fast. Try an experimental hour of violin-led miniatures by Carla Kihlstedt and the contemporary ensemble Present Music. The songs run A through Z, inspired by Edward Gorey’s macabre children’s book, The Gashlycrumb Tinies, and created in honor of the writer’s and illustrator’s 100th birthday in 2025. Though let’s be frank – he died in 2000. Can we celebrate bygone greats without tying the celebration to their birthdays? Our highlighted track is “Death By Peach,” brought to you by the letter “E.” Via Cantaloupe Music.
