Jazz? Sure, but a fair amount of raga and a little hip hop on this cosmopolitan mashup. Kadef is the name of the performing ensemble, and it’s also an acronym. KADEF: Karma, Agape, Discernment, Enactment and Freedom. The shades of religious devotional music are not an accident. Our highlighted track “Omri” leans hard on a gangbuster vocal performance, which is not directly credited on Bandcamp. Likely it’s Ziad Qoulaii, and if not, Rachid Salamate.
