Czonka: “Taarradhin”

A stiff arthaus instrumental bop. It’s Czonka, straight outta Washington DC, bringing you hipster prog. Shades of a krautrock Amulette. Despite the “cz,” their band name is the easiest thing to speak and spell about them. Our highlighted track is titled “Taarradhin.” Which might mean something, or might mean nothing. The song’s got an angular punch, stitched together between drums, bass, and a hurky jurky synth loop. The mix sounds a little thin, and even less happens in the 3:32 run time than you might imagine.
