Allegra Krieger: “Came”

Folk rock poetry. The melody wends its weird ways on our highlighted track “Came” from Allegra Krieger. A folk singer’s mentality, combined with some jazzy progressions, and a flat Pavement-meets-Thelonious Monk appetite for hitting the wrong note in just the right way. I wasn’t prepared for this song to explode at the end because it had developed such a nice medium intensity swagger, but, yeah, it fires off like a roman candle just when you were putting the baby to bed. I don’t hate it. Off Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine. Via Double Double Whammy.
