The jazzman invited fellow composers to write his latest album. Marquis Hill knows how to delegate responsibility on Composers Collective: Beyond The JukeBox. Having said that, it would be wonderful to inform you which fellow composer wrote our highlighted track “Meshell.” But the Bandcamp liner notes tell no tales – at least not about specific tracks. Your ears will tell you there’s a little horn and plenty of Joel Ross on vibes and/or marimba. Does the song title refer to Meshell Ndegeocello?
