Moontype: “Long Country”

A jangly, whispy pop surprise. The actual texture of the guitars on our highlighted track “Long Country,” at least on the chorus, is pretty gnarly. Buzzy, ripping, rough stuff from Moontype. But the way they’re mixed into the song, gently, defangs some of the intensity and venom. You could imagine, though, that they’re allowed to roar full blast in the live version. The studio version keeps it a bit buttoned up, though I have a feeling that this band lets it rip on stage. Via Orindal Records.
