Beeef: “Narragansett Bay”

Beeef. It’s what’s for diinner. And luunch. And sometimes breeakfast, if you order steak & eggs, which is an expensive $20-25 these days. A lot of money to throw down first thing in the morning on a meal that most of us skip or substitute with an extra cup of coffee. But once in a while, damn, it’s nice. Local indie rockers Beeef spin sweet reminisces in five or six chord progressions and spritely percussion. Our highlighted track “Narragansett Bay” dreams a dream of summer love. Ever fleeting, and all the more powerful in its passing. Extra points for some exquisite imagery in the lyrics, full of beach houses with “salt-stained shingles,” which unfurl so effortlessly and fanfare-free you might miss them. Off the full-length Somebody’s Favorite.
