Lawrence Fields: “Vision”

A pianist…and a keyboardist. Lawrence Fields does both. I think most non-musicians would take that for granted. If you can play one, you can play the other. But no doubt there are a thousand shades of difference between the two for professional musicians. Our highlighted track “Vision” is a powerful piece of jazz improv, with the piano taking the lead. A bright, canny number. The pace is quick, the measures are dense, and Fields is constantly racing toward an epiphany. Sleep when you’re dead, right? Off To The Surface.
