Samuel Adams: “Shade Studies”
Written By Michael Gutierrez
The American patriot and brewer Samuel Adams goes full BOTW. Sure, his album Current contains more strident compositions than our highlighted track “Shade Studies.” Especially when he leans into the violins. But it’s the wide open vistas full of negative space that capture our attention this time around. Shades of Yasuaki Iwata, Beedle, and Aaron Copland on Thorazine.
