Sunny War: “No Reason”
Written By Michael Gutierrez

The Bandcamp page shouts out both Los Angeles and Nashville as headquarters for Sunny War. You’ll hear both in her music and more in our highlighted track “No Reason.” A bouncy country motor, the twang of acoustic guitar, fired up and served over the hot coals of slicker contemporary pop production. Between the moniker (Sunny War), the album title (Anarchist Gospel), and the hashtags #folkpunk, you might expect a more aggro assault. But the artist sounds more “sunny” than “war.” Shades of Feist, Tracy Chapman, and Tune-Yards.
