Time and Place: “Flags”

A folk punk elegy about murder by for-profit healthcare. While the suits debate with each other how best to profit off people living and dying, the song’s protagonist plots his revenge. A mention of “metastatized fear” alludes to the affliction at work in the song’s narrative. But whether we’re talking about cancer, leukemia, respiratory disease, or whatever, why should some live and others die based on what they have in their bank account? A banjo leads the way in this solo picker “Flags,” provided by Brandon Rainville of Time and Place.
