YAI: “Lotus Eater”

Odyssey ref! Art, music, literature will never grow tired of this particular reference because it picks out an undeniable subplot of every human life: the search and striving for pleasure. Of course, the Lotus Eaters were just about pleasuring themselves to the point of oblivion, which makes for an annoying distraction when you’re just trying to pack up and get home after a long war abroad. None of this is communicated through the ambient jazz instrumental of our highlighted track “Lotus Eater.” And it’s probably better that way. YAI just want to grab your attention for a brief second with a familiar tagline so they can plunge you neck-deep into their lush, tropical world of sound. Off Sky Time. Via AKP Recordings.
