Rose City Band: “La Mesa”

What’s Shakedown Street look like in 2025? Probably more potholes, in need of significant infrastructural repair. We’ll take the brief instrumental disco jammer “La Mesa” from Rose City Band instead. Sweet, but oh so brief, and a bit of an outlier on an album that skews mostly cosmic country with a side of bluegrass. A light, dancey single is a nice change of pace. Put it on repeat while you peel carrots. Off Sol Y Sombra. Via Thrill Jockey Records.
