Virginia Creeper: “Fly Eagle Fly”

A downtempo slackrawk cooker. Our highlighted track “Fly Eagle Fly” from Virginia Creeper starts off slow and low with vocalist Genevieve Poist dropping verses and letting a spacey, gazey guitar gradually pick up steam. The lyrics are spare, stark, and speak with the simplicity of a Delta blues aphorism. You might not know what it means, but it’s coming from a real place. Watch out for the wall off sound in the second half of the song, which is less of a guitar solo, more a Sonic Youth-style decomposition dustup. Off GOBLN7.
